Laser | Safety Information |
|
The | optical drive in | this system unit is a laser product. The optical drive has a lab |
that | identifies its | classification. The label, located on the drive, is shown below. |
CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT
LASER KLASSE 1
LUOKAN 1 LASERLAITE
APPAREIL A LASER DE CLASSE 1
IEC 825:1984 CENELEC EN 60 825:1991
The optical drive in this system unit is certified in the U.S. to conform to the requirements of the Department of Health and Human Services 21 Code of Federal Regulations (DHHS 21 CFR) Subchapter J for Class 1 laser products. Elsewhere,
the drive is certified to conform to the requirements of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 825 (1st edition 1984) and CENELEC EN 60

Class 1 laser products are not considered to | be hazardous. The optical drive
contains | internally | a | Class | 3B | that | is | nominally 0.14 | milliwatts
at 830 nanometers. The design incorporates a combination of enclosures, |
| |||||||||||||||||
electronics, | and | redundant interlocks | such | that | there | is | no | exposure to | laser radiation |
above a Class 1 level during normal operation, user maintenance, or servicing conditions.
