Replacementpower supply or coverpanel for the power supply slot
CAUTION: Donot leave the power supplyslot empty for a long time while the switch
isoperational. Either replace the power supplyunit promptly or install a cover panel
overthe empty slot.
Toremovea DC power supply from an EX8200 switch (see Figure 83 on page 211):
1. Attachthe electrostatic discharge(ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and
connectthe strap to the ESD point on the chassis.
2. Makesure that the voltage acrossthe DC power source cables leads is 0 V and that
thereis no chance that the cables might becomeactive during the removal process.
3. Flipthe Enable switch on the power supply to the Standbyposition.
4. Unscrewthe screw counterclockwiseusing the Phillips (+) screwdriver, number 2,
oneach of the plastic cable coversthat shield the input terminal studs.
5. Removethe plastic cable coversfrom both pairs of input terminal studs. See Figure
82on page 210.

6. Unscrewthe nuts counterclockwise using the 3/8 in. (9.5mm) nut driver or socket
wrenchfrom the input terminal studs.
7. Removethe cablelugs and washers from the input terminal studs.
8. Unscrewthe captive screw counterclockwiseusing the Phillips (+) screwdriver,
number1.
9. Pullthe captive screw awayfrom the faceplate of the power supply torelease the
latch.
