Rack-Mountingand Cabinet-Mounting Warnings for EX Series Switches
Ensurethat the rack or cabinet in which the EX Series switch is installedis evenly and
securelysupported. Uneven mechanical loadingcould lead to a hazardous condition.
WARNING: Topreventbodily injury when mounting or servicing the switch in a rack,
takethe following precautionsto ensure that the system remains stable. Thefollowing
directiveshelp maintain your safety:
•Theswitch must be installed in a rack that is securedto the building structure.
•Theswitch should be mounted at the bottom of the rackif it is the only unit in the
rack.
•Whenmounting the switch on a partially filled rack, loadthe rack from the bottom
tothe top with the heaviest component at the bottom of the rack.
•Ifthe rack is provided with stabilizing devices, install the stabilizersbefore mounting
orservicing the switch in the rack.
