Ifyou must rest a line card temporarily on an edge,place a cushion between the edge
andthe surface.
Donot stack line cards on top of one another or on top of any other component. Place
eachline card separately in an antistaticbag or on an antistatic mat placed on a flat,
stablesurface.
Storinga Line Card
Youmust storea line card in the chassis or in a spare shipping container,horizontally and
sheetmetal side down. Do not stack line cards on top of one another or on top of any
othercomponent. Place each line card separatelyin an antistatic bag or on an antistatic
matplaced on a flat, stable surface.
NOTE: Becausethe line card is heavy,and because antistatic bags are fragile,inserting
theline card into the bag is best done with two people, eachto do one of the following
steps.
Toinsert a line card intoan antistatic bag:
1. Holdthe line card in the horizontal position with the faceplatefacing you.
2. Slidethe opening of the bag over the line card connector edge.
Ifyou must insert the line card into a bag by yourself:
1. Laythe line card horizontally on a flat, stablesurface, sheet metal side down.
2. Orientthe line card with the faceplate facingyou.
3. Carefullyinsert the line card connectoredge into the opening of the bag and pull the
bagtoward you to coverthe line card.
