6–2 1765 Network Printer Configuration Guide
NEC 1765 Client Software for NetWare
The NEC 1765 Client software for NetWare allows you
to monitor the printer status, check the printer
configuration, and monitor current print jobs. The
following section describes specific tasks and the steps
to complete them. For detailed information about
windows, dialog boxes, and menu options in NEC1765
Client software see page 6-6.
note: NEC 1765 Client software for NetWare uses a
NetWare active connection. If the current number of
NetWare active connections is equal to the number
specified in the maximum user license, you will not be
able to see any printers in the NEC 1765 Client software
until another user logs out to reduce the number of
NetWare active connections. For best performance,
limit active connections to at least one less than the
number specified in the maximum user license.
note: Windows 3.1x users may encounter
difficulties with Windows resources while using NEC
1765 Client software for NetWare. If your Windows
3.1x system crashes frequently, try editing your
WIN.INI file. To verify that the problem is caused by
Windows resources, modify the WIN.INI file so that
both load and run commands are empty as shown
below. Comment out the original load and run
commands by typing a “;” in front of them.
load=
;load=nwpopup.exe stbvisn.exe
run=
;run=c:\SWRITER\wspd.exe
Then restart Windows. If that helps, experiment with
adding one load or run command at a time. You must
restart Windows each time the WIN.INI file is edited for
changes to take effect. If the problem persists, consider
upgrading to Windows 95.
