Serial port

The printer’s serial port provides an RS-232 interface connection to PCs and other hosts. The printer’s serial port has these built-in default settings.

■Variable (factory default, Switch 7, down)

■Baud rate — 9600

■Flagging — Software (XON/XOFF)

■Parity — None

■Stop bits — 1

■Data bits — 8

■Check parity — False

■Protocol — Normal

When Switch 7 on the printer’s rear panel is in the down position, you can change the default setting. To change the serial port’s settings, you can use the PostScript Level 2 setdevparams command. Refer to the Phaser 300X Drivers and Utilities Printing Reference for details.
