Weight and thickness

The following table presents guidelines you should follow when selecting the grade, weight, and thickness of paper to use with the printer. The paper must have enough thickness or stiffness to feed through the printer properly. Manual feed accepts a wider range of grades and weights than the paper trays.

Avoid papers that are extra stiff or extremely thin. Papers that are extremely thin may not feed properly. Also, do not use papers that have a basis weight higher than 220 g/m2 (equivalent to 80-pound Cover) or papers that are thicker than 0.254 mm (0.01 in.).
