3.24 Running Test

3.24.1 Function Description

This function automatically executes the following tests in sequence:

1.System test (subtest 01)

2.Memory test (subtests 01,02,04,06)

3.Real timer test (subtest 02)

4.Display test (subtest 01)

5.FDD test (subtest 02)

6.HDD test (subtests 01,05)

7.Printer test (subtest 03) if selected

The system automatically detects the number of floppy disk drives connected to the computer for the FDD test.

3.24.2 Operations

NOTE: Do not forget to load a formatted work disk in the FDD. If a work disk is not loaded, an error will be generated during the FDD testing.

1.Remove the diagnostics disk from the floppy disk drive and insert the formatted work disk.

2.Select 6 from the DIAGNOSTIC MENU and press Enter. The following message is displayed.

Printer wrap around test (Y/N) ?

Selecting Y (yes) executes the printer wraparound test. A printer wraparound connector must be connected to the parallel port of the computer to execute properly this test.

3.Select Y or N and press Enter. The following message will appear:

Serial #A wrap around test (Y/N) ?

Selecting Y (yes) executes the Serial #A test. An RS-232C wraparound connector must be connected to the serial port of the computer to execute properly this test. The Serial #A test can not be executed since the computer is not equipped with a serial port. Press N.
