TEL Mode | In TEL Mode, your machine is set for you to |
| manually answer any call. If you hear a fax |
| signal, you then press the Start button and hang |
| up the handset of the external phone to begin |
| receiving the fax. For this function, the LCD |
| display on the control panel shows TEL. |
TEL/FAX Mode | In TEL/FAX mode, the machine automatically |
| answers the call. If the machine detects a fax |
| signal, it will receive that fax. If a fax signal is |
| not detected, the machine will give another |
| ringing tone to tell you it is a phone call. For this |
| function, the LCD display on the control panel |
| shows TEL/FAX. |
Xerox label | This is the machine label found on the back of |
| your machine. It contains such items as the |
| Federal Communications Commission |
| Registration number, the Ringer Equivalence |
| Number and the machine’s serial number. |
