Switching the time display
The following operation allows you to check the recording time information during recording or playing time information during playback.
Press the TIME/MARGIN button (or the TIME button on the remote control unit) repeatedly to switch the time display. Information that is displayed during playback and recording operation modes slightly differ. The time information and the order it is displayed in for both modes is shown below.
ADuring recording
1: Elapsed recording time
(2 min. 16 sec. after the start of track 2)
2: Remaining recording time
(56 min. 10 sec. remaining on the disc)
3: Total recording time
(3 min. 50 sec. of
4: Margin indicator
(Left channel: 5dB, Right channel:3dB)
BDuring playback
1 : Elapsed playing time
(2 min. 16 sec. after the start of track 2)
2 : Remaining playing time of track being played (3 min. 20 sec. remaining for track 2)
3 : Remaining playing time of all tracks on disc being played (46 min. 40 sec. remaining on the disc)
4 : Total playing time
(60 min. 0 sec. for 8 tracks)
5 : Margin indicator
(Left channel: 5dB, Right channel:3dB)

2: Total recorded tracks and total recorded time
To read the margin indicator.
The margin indicator displays the difference between the peak input level and the maximum recordable level (0dBfs), for both the right and left channels. The margin indicator should be used when setting the record level from an analog source, or checking the peak level when playing back a disc. If the maximum peak level is exceeded “00” blinks for the respective channel (distortion of the signal may occur).
To reset the margin indicator
Press the SKIP ID CLEAR button while the margin indicator is displayed.
