SCMS

7 SCMS (Serial Copy Management System)

SCMS is the system for controlling the further copying of discs recorded in this unit. The available options are:

Ö Unlimited copies can be made Ö One copy can be made

Ö No copies can be made

These options are set in the menu system (page 50).

The status of the copy protection that will be written on the disc is indicated (on the copy bit indicator above the MENU button) in record pause mode as follows.

Ö Copy permit- indicator lights Ö Copy once- indicator off

Ö Copy inhibit- indicator blinks

As the CDR-850 is a professional recorder the status of the copy control flags at the digital inputs are not used. This facility is only for professional use and must never be used to enable infringement of copyright.
