Overview
Depending on your network con figuration and application
requirements for sending faxes via a network, you can choose
between Brother Net work PC FAX Software or Br other Internet Fax
Printing Software. With ei ther software, viewable docu ment such as
web pages, word document s, PDF documents can be sent from the
users desktop to any standard Facsimile machines, Internet fax
machines and E-mail addres ses.
Brother Internet Fax Printing Software (BFP) is a Windows® 95/98/
Me, Windows NT® 4.0 and Windows® 2000/XP software utility that
gives network PC Fax and Internet Fax functionality from the desktop
to users on your network or over the Internet.
BFP utilizes SMTP as th e transport for se nding documents from y our
PC. This allows any PC supp orted by a SMTP mail serv er to send an
Internet FAX even if that PC does not have direct access to the
networked machine.
Brother Network PC Fax Software utilizes LPR as the transport for
sending documents from yo ur PC to the networked machine fo r
transmission. This requires that the sending PC has access to the
network that the sending m achine is connected.
