8Set up Network Discovery
The following flowchart shows all the important tasks that must be completed
to set up Network Discovery. There are other optional tasks described
throughout the chapter.
Network Discovery allows you to define quite precisely what devices in your
network it will discover and how. For now though, keep things simple and set
up Network Discovery to perform active discovery on all of the network that you
know has devices.
Run Router Discovery
Set up IPv4 Ranges to Discover
Set up IPv4 Ranges to Avoid
Add Community Strings
Set up Specialty IPv4 Ranges
(DHCP and unmanaged routers)
Activate Changes
Check that Network Discovery
is running
