Removing the Cooling Fan Assembly

1Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from its electrical outlet.

2Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 89.

3If applicable, remove the memory-riser blanks. See "Removing a Memory- Riser Blank" on page 99.

4Remove the memory risers. See "Removing a Memory Riser" on page 100.

5Remove the fans from the cooling fan assembly. See "Removing a Cooling Fan" on page 116.

6Pull the blue release tabs in the direction of the arrows to release the handles on the cooling fan assembly. See Figure 3-17.

7Grasp the handles and lift the cooling fan assembly out of the system. See Figure 3-17.
