Replacing the Power Distribution Board

CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.

1Unpack the new power distribution board assembly.

2Align the tabs on the board with the slots on the chassis.

3Press the board into the connector until it is fully seated.

4Install the cooling fan assembly. See "Installing the Cooling Fan Assembly" on page 120.

5Install the memory risers. See "Installing a Memory Riser" on page 101.

6If applicable, install the memory-riser blanks. See "Installing a Memory- Riser Blank" on page 100.

7Close the system. See "Closing the System" on page 90.

8Install the power supplies in the system. See "Installing a Power Supply" on page 156.

9Reconnect the system to its electrical outlet and turn the system on, including any attached peripherals.

1If installed, remove the front bezel. See "Removing the Front Bezel" on page 87.

2Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.
