To Use Macros

You can use the Broadband Service Analyzer to create macros. A macro is a file that contains a list of actions required to perform a task. After you create a macro, you can repeat the actions as many times as you want simply by playing the macro. Macros are particularly useful for repetitive tasks such as running a series of tests.

The analyzer also provides a number of predefined macros that you can run to perform common tasks.

The macros you create can be used by others. For example, you can create a macro that contains a complete network test plan, then distribute the macro to technicians to ensure that they all use the same test plan.

The Broadband Service Analyzer macro environment includes the Tcl scripting language. You can use this scripting language to enhance your macro, for example, to add looping and program control instructions.
