To Monitor Alarms and Errors

The status windows display the following information:

Physical Layer

types of alarms and the number of one-second intervals that contain each alarm (this is called “errored seconds”)

a summary of errors displayed as seconds, count, or ratio

ATM Layer

types of alarms and the number of one-second intervals that contain each alarm

count and bandwidth of ATM cells

a summary of errors displayed as seconds, count, or ratio

ATM Adaptation Layer (AAL)

affected channel (VPI/VCI) for each AAL type

Sequence Number and Cell Loss errors for AAL-1

CRC errors for AAL-3/4 and AAL-5

number of affected channels

OAM

affected channel or path

flow type (segment or end-to-end)

the number of one-second intervals that contain AIS or RDI alarms

number of affected F4 and F5 flows
