Setting Up the Analyzer

To Connect the Analyzer to a Computer

To Change Conﬁguration Parameters

You can change the conﬁguration parameters for the analyzer and the controlling computer using either

∙the Network Conﬁguration utility. Use this method of changing the conﬁguration parameters when you want to connect the analyzer as a networked system. You must change the conﬁguration parameters before you connect the analyzer.

∙the analyzer system administration functions. Use this method when the analyzer is connected as a standalone system.

To Conﬁgure the Analyzer Using the Network

Conﬁguration Utility

1Double click the HP Analyzer Terminal over SLIP icon in the HP Broadband Analyzer program group.

2Switch on the analyzer and hold down the Enter key on the terminal for ﬁve seconds until the HP Broadband Service Analyzer Conﬁguration menu appears. You must press the Enter key immediately after turning on the power switch.

The keyboard on the remote workstation must be conﬁgured to auto- repeat.

3Type 2 to change the current boot parameters; then press Enter.

4Record the conﬁguration parameters for the analyzer.

5Close the terminal window by pressing Ctrl-C.

6Switch off the analyzer. You must reboot the analyzer after you have changed the conﬁguration parameters.

7Disconnect the terminal from the serial port.

8Connect the analyzer to the network (see “To Connect the Analyzer as a Networked System” on page 1-10).
