Differences Using the Async Terminal: The customer ID selection is found in the main/control/miscellaneous control options menu. Select Customer Identification Name/Number from that menu.

Establishing Access Security on a Port

Although the password feature is available, it is not required as a factory default. If used, it ensures access security before device control is passed to a PC or terminal connected to a port. The password configuration option can be individually set for the COM or MODEM port, or both if security is needed on both port types. The default is none. From the front panel, set this configuration option using the Control branch. Select cnfigedituserpassword. The password itself is set separately. Refer to the section Setting/Changing a Password.

Differences Using the Async Terminal: The password is set in the main/configuration/edit/user screen. Figure 2-11 shows an example of this screen.
