2 Getting to know the Wide Format Copy System

Scan System Warm-up

The Scan System requires about 45 seconds to warm up and initialize after you power on the Wide Format Copy System. Once the initialization is complete, the READY screen is displayed. Below is an example of the READY screen.

You can now insert a document into the Document Feed Tray of the Scan System. The Scan System will then transport the document to the starting position. This transportation of the document is called staging.

If you cannot insert a document into the feed mechanism and achieve staging after approximately 4 minutes, refer to the "Problem solving" section of this guide.

Powering off the System

To power off the Wide Format Copy System, do the following:

1.Power off the Controller and the Printer.

For the 510 Series, switch the Circuit Breaker Switch to the Off (O) position. Then switch the Printer Switch to the Off (O) position.

For the 721P, first power off the Printer. Then power off the Controller.

2.Switch off the Scan System by pressing the Power On/Off Switch on the back of the Scan System to the Off (O) position as shown below.
