Installing the SAS Backplane Board

CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.

1Place the SAS backplane board so that the securing tabs on the drive cage are fully inserted into the securing slots on the backplane board. See Figure 3-26.

2Pull the SAS-backplane board release pin. See Figure 3-26.

3While pulling the release pin, tilt the SAS-backplane board toward the front of the system until it stops, then release the release pin and ensure that it snaps into place.
