TROUBLESHOOTING

1.The printer does not operate when power is turned on.

START

Does the

printer beep No before it dies?

Yes

Is the		No
AC input voltage
normal?
	Yes
Has fuse F1		Yes
on the C204 power
supply board blown?

Check Table 5-1, Error

Codes.

Use the correct AC voltage.

Replace the fuse F1 and disconnect CN2, CN3, and CN4 on the C204 power supply Board.

No

No

Measure the output voltage from the C 204 power supply board.

Is the		No
output voltage
normal?
	Yes

Is the problem fixed?

Yes

END

Reconnect CN2,
CN3, and CN4
and turn on the		When you
printer.	No
		turn on power
		again, does the
		new fuse also
		blow?
			Yes

Replace the C204 power supply board.

Check all motors, solenoid, printhead, and drivers using a multimeter.

Are they		No
within normal
range?
	Yes

Replace the C204 MAIN board,

C204 DRV board, and/or

C204 DRV-B board.

Is the		No
fault corrected?
	Yes		See Section 5.3 to
			repair the printer
			mechanism.

Retest

Replace bad motor, solenoid, or printhead. If driver also is bad, replace at the same time.
