Displaying or Entering System Information

Displaying System Information—The following information can be displayed using the Compaq Computer Security icon in the system tray:

■Computer serial number, asset tag, and ownership tag

■Battery pack serial number and asset tag

■Processor serial number

■Docking station serial number and asset tag (if computer is docked)

To display information:

Click Start⊕Settings⊕Control Panel, double-click the Compaq Computer Security icon, click the Information tab. Select the device for the information you want to see.

or

Right-click the Compaq Computer Security icon in the system tray, click Security Properties⊕Information tab. Select the device for the information you want to see.

Entering Asset and Ownership Tags—You can enter a system and docking station (if computer is docked) ownership and asset tag and a battery pack asset tag.

To enter a tag:

Click Start⊕Settings⊕Control Panel, double-click the Compaq Computer Security icon, click the Information tab. Select the device and type the ownership tag into the corresponding field.

or

Right-click the Compaq Computer Security icon in the system tray, click Security Properties⊕Information tab. Select the device and type the ownership tag into the corresponding field.
