Using the Operator Menu

The Operator menu (see Figure 42) is displayed after the following:

vThe library manager is powered on.

vThe Copyright panel is displayed.

vThe Auto mode/Online state process has completed.

The Operator menu panel consists of a title bar, an action bar, and initially, the

System Summary window. See Figure 43.

You can select any of the action items from the Operator menu. When one of the action items is selected, a pull-down menu is displayed with additional information or selections.

Selection

Pull-Down Menu Selections

Mode Allows selection of an operational mode and state (see ªUsing the Mode Pull-Downº on page 99).

Status

Displays subsystem status and statistics (see ªUsing the Status Pull-Downº on page 109).

Queues

Displays the contents of the command queues (see ªUsing the Queues

Pull-Downº on page 137).

Database

Provides database search procedures for volumes (see ªUsing the

Database Pull-Downº on page 139).

Commands

Provides operator commands and allows responses to intervention-required conditions (see ªUsing the Commands Pull-Downº on page 152).
