Disk storage holds the contents of the Tape Volume Cache and is managed by the Virtual Tape Server controller. One to four disk storage features may be installed in a Model B18 VTS.

The Virtual Tape Server controller consists of a RISC processor and associated adapter cards.

„3… Power control compartment

Power to all components in the frame is distributed through the power control compartment.
