Extended Features upgrade

In its standard configuration, the Phaser 350 offers Fast Color and Standard color printing modes, 8 Mbytes of RAM memory, and 17 fonts. The Extended Features upgrade is especially suited for workgroups, enhancing the printer’s performance in the following ways:

Adds Enhanced (600 x 300) color printing mode.

Adds 16 Mbytes of memory, totalling 24 Mbytes. More memory provides job pipelining to speed printer throughput and offloading of print jobs from your computer, faster processing of image data, and additional storage for more downloadable fonts.

Adds 52 fonts for a total of 69 fonts.

Provides a Check Print feature allowing you to review the first page of a document or multi-page print job before continuing. Refer to “Previewing with Check Print” on page 4-14for more information.

Provides a collation feature for printing several copies of a multiple-page document. Refer to “Using the Quick Collate option” on page 4-12 for more information. Requires use of an approved external SCSI hard disk; refer to “Selecting a SCSI hard disk” on page 2-24 for more information.

Note The startup page reports the printer’s configuration, including installed RAM memory and fonts. For information on the startup page, refer to “Printer Help Pages” on page 7-6.

The Extended Features upgrade consists of a replacement ROM and additional memory, both of which are required. To determine if your printer has the Extended Features option, check for the number of fonts listed on the printer’s startup page. If you only have 17 fonts available, the printer does not have the extended feature set.

Note To order the Extended Features upgrade for a Phaser 350 printer, use Tektronix order number Z350FX.
