Overview of Avaya Video Telephony Solution

The Avaya Video Telephony Solution enables Avaya Communication Manager to merge a set of enterprise features with Polycom’s videoconferencing adjuncts. It unifies voice over IP with video, web applications, Avaya’s video-enabled IP Softphone, third-party gatekeepers, and other H.323 endpoints. With the Avaya Video Telephony Solution, you can provide video for desktop and group communications.

The Avaya Video Telephony Solution supports video calls on the following products:

Avaya IP Softphone Release 6.0 and Video Integrator

Polycom HDX series video conferencing system

Polycom VSX series video conferencing system

Polycom V500/V700 video calling system

Polycom RMX series video conferencing bridge platform

Polycom MGC video conferencing bridge platform

Avaya Meeting Exchange 5.0.1 S6800 bridge

You must perform a network readiness or network assessment to ensure your network is capable of supporting the high bandwidth demands of video over IP. You should also consider implementing QoS across your network.
