Installing Summit Family Switches

After the switch is secured to the rack, install and connect power supplies as described on page 135 for AC power supplies or on page 136 for DC power supplies.

Installing the Switch in a Four-Post Rack

To install the switch in a four-post rack:

1At the back of the rack, attach a rear mounting bracket to each rear post, as shown in Figure 104.

2Attach an ESD-preventive wrist strap to your wrist and connect the metal end to an appropriate ground point on the rack.

3Set the switch on a secure work surface.

4At the front of the switch, attach a rack-mounting bracket to each side as shown in Figure 105. Position the bracket with the flange at the front edge of the switch.
