Note

The ac adapter/charger will not power the test tool when the battery pack is removed.

Internal Lithium Backup Battery

A lithium battery maintains the test tool’s memory contents when you remove the NiCad battery pack. The memory contents maintained are the stored Autotest reports, all SETUP settings, self-calibration and NVP calibration data, custom cable configurations, and the report identification information.

The lithium battery lasts about five years if you always keep the main battery installed. Removing the main battery pack for extended periods shortens the life of the lithium battery.
