Your notebook turns off all by itself.

Possible Cause

8. The battery or batteries are low.

1.The power management parameters are set for auto timeouts which are too short for your operating needs.

Possible Solution

8.If the batteries are dead there will be a beep when the power switch is turned on and the notebook will immediately go into Dead Battery Suspend mode. (See pages 28–29.)Check the Status Indicator panel to determine the presence and condition of the batteries. (See Figure 2-3 on page 19.) Use a power adapter to operate until a battery is charged or install a charged battery.

1.Use the keyboard or pointer and if that does not restore operation,push the Suspend/ Resume button. Check the PowerPanel set- tings or close your applications and go to the setup utility Power Savings menu and adjust the timeout values to better suit your operation needs. (See the PowerPanel on pages 41–44 and Power Savings Menu on pages 96–102.)
