Operating the Dual Screen Features

Mark

To select a field as the source field for a subsequent paste operation, hold down the Alt key while you press the F4 key (Mark). See “Mark/Paste” on Page 9-7 for a complete description.

Paste

To select a field as the target field and paste source data into that field, move the cursor to the target field and hold the Alt key while you press the F5 key (Paste). The data in the source field is pasted into the target field. If there is already data in the target field, that data is overwritten with the data from the source field. See “Mark,” above, for instructions on how to select a source field. The target field cannot be in the same session as the source field. See “Mark/Paste” on Page 9-7 for additional information about mark and paste.

Paste Horizontal

To select a field as the target field, paste source data into that field, and then select the next source and target fields, move the cursor to the target field and press and hold the Alt key while you press the F6 key (Paste Horizontal). The data in the source field is pasted into the target field, the field to the right of the current source field becomes the new source field, and the cursor moves to the field to the right of the current target field. If the current source or target field is the rightmost field on the screen, the leftmost field on the next line becomes the new source or target field. If the current source or target field is the last field on the screen, the Mark/Paste function terminates. If there is already data in the target field, that data is overwritten with the data from the source field. See “Mark,” above, for instructions on how to select an initial source field. The target field cannot be in the same session as the source field. See “Mark/Paste” on Page 9-7 for additional information about mark and paste.

Paste Vertical

To select a field as the target field, paste source data into that field, and then select the next source and target fields, move the cursor to the target field and press and hold the Alt key while you press the F7 key (Paste Vertical). The data in the source field is pasted into the target field, the field beneath the current source field becomes the new source field, and the cursor moves to the field below the current target field. If the current source or target field is at the bottom of the screen, the Mark/Paste function terminates. If there is already data in the target field, that data is overwritten with the data from the source field. See “Mark,” above, for instructions on how to select an initial source field. The target field cannot be in the same session as the source field. See “Mark/Paste” on Page 9-7 for additional information about mark and paste.
