6.3Transmission Settings

Adjusting the Fax Resolution

Selecting one of the following resolutions to match the type of document to be faxed (documents containing a lot of small print, detailed illustrations or photos) will produce a sharper result.

Document type	Resolution setting
Documents with normal print	Standard

Documents containing small print, such as	Fine, Super Fine
newspapers
Documents containing detailed illustrations

Documents containing text and objects with	Standard + Half Tone,
varying shades, such as photos	Fine + Half Tone

Documents containing objects with varying	Fine + Half Tone,
shades, such as photos	Super Fine + Half Tone

To specify the resolution

1Position the document to be faxed.

2Press the [Resolution] key until the resolution that matches the document is selected.

Repeatedly pressing the [Resolution] key changes the setting as shown below.
