4.3Selecting the Paper Source

Before making a copy, the paper tray containing the paper that will be used must be selected. Either the paper source is selected automatically when the size of the document is detected, or the desired paper source can be selected manually.

Auto Paper:

If the “Auto Paper” function is selected, the paper tray containing the most suitable size of paper is selected based on the size of the document and the specified.

Manual paper selection:

The paper tray containing the paper that you wish to use can be selected.

Note

The Automatic Document Feeder (optional) is needed for copying with the “Auto Paper” function.

To make copies using the “Auto Paper” function

1Load the document into the Automatic Document Feeder.

 Refer to “Loading the Document” on page 4-1.

2Press the [Auto Paper/Auto Size] key until the “Auto Paper” function is

selected.

Check that “AUTO” appears in the bottom line of the screen.

3If necessary, specify any other copy settings.

4Using the 10-Key Pad, enter the desired number of copies, and then press the [Start] key.
