Paper sizes of received faxes

The sizes of documents that can be received are 11 17 L, Letter L, Letter C, Legal L and Invoice C.

If paper of the same size as the document is not loaded in a paper tray, the fax is printed on paper of a larger size. For example, if Letter-size

paper is not loaded into a paper tray, a Letter-size received fax will be printed on Legal- or 11 17-size paper. (If 11 17- or Legal-size paper is not loaded into a paper tray, the fax is regarded as one compatible with Letter-size paper.)

Received faxes cannot be printed on paper in the Manual Bypass Tray.

Long documents that are received

If a long document (as compared with standard sizes such as Letter and Legal) is received, the length is automatically reduced to fit within a single sheet of paper.

The length is reduced to a maximum of 70%, and then printed. If the document does not fit within a single sheet of paper, even after reducing it to 70%, the document is divided and printed so that the ends overlap.

In addition, the machine can be set to divide the document without reducing it or to discard any excess.(Refer to “To set the “REDUCTION RX” function” on page 10-44.)

If the paper size units are set to “METRIC” for any paper tray, a received document cannot be printed onto paper loaded into that tray. (Refer to “To specify the automatic paper size detection units (“INCH/ METRIC” function)” on page 9-13.)

If any of the following settings are specified for the 1st Tray, a received document cannot be printed onto paper loaded into that tray. (Refer to “To specify the size of paper loaded into the 1st Tray (“TRAY1 PAPER” function)” on page 9-14.)
