Configuring for Use with a Modem

VSX systems that have a serial port can be configured to receive closed captions from a captioning service via modem.

To configure the system to work with a modem:

1.Go to System > Admin Settings > General Settings > Serial Port.

2.Configure these settings:

Setting	Description

Baud Rate	Set the baud rate to the same value as the modem.

RS-232 Mode	Select Closed Caption.

3.Configure the modem for 8 bits, no parity.

You may also need to configure the modem to ignore DTR and to answer automatically.
