If polling is immediate, the terminal will
begin to dial.
If the polled location is busy, your termi-
nal will redial up to two times at intervals
of five minutes.
Notes: 1. To cancel apreprogrammed time-designated polling reception operation, use Function 66
(see “Clearing Polling Files”).
2. POLL FILE CREATED
If this is displayed, amessage was coming in at the designated polling time or when you
pressed ~Start .Polling will begin immediately after the end of reception.
CAUTION: Send later polling files are erased automatically after polling unless there is aline
problem.
2-2 Closed Network for Reception
In aclosed network, communication can only take place between terminals which have the same ID
code (see page 23).
Aclosed network for reception will prevent unauthorized people, such as senders of junk fax mail, from
communicating with your terminal and using up your paper supply. This function is normally disabled.
Call your service representative if you are interested in this feature.
Note :This feature is not reliable for communication with terminals produced by another manufac-
turer. Authorized reception is amore reliable feature (see page 65).
