1-9 Clearing a Memory File

To make room in the memory for a document that you want to store, or for a confidential message you may be expecting, you may erase some lower-priority documents using the following procedure.

Before erasing a file, you might wish toviewthe contents of that file to check whether you really want to erase it. To do this, use Function 75 (see section 1-10 at the bottom this page).

2.Type in the file number to be erased. Refer to the latest SAF File List if you need to know the correct file number.

Example: File No. 1, type O 0 1 .

3, Press Yes .

An updated SAF File List is printed and the machine returns to standby.

Notes:

If NO FILE EXISTS is displayed, you instructed the machine to delete a file that does not exist. Try again from step 2.

You cannot erase a confidential file. If you try, the machine will go back to step 2 automatically.

Pressi No if you typed the wrong number.

1-10 Printing the Contents of a Memory File

If you want to see the text of a document that you stored in a particular memory file, do the following.

1. PreSS ~Function 7 5 Yes

FILE NO nm KEYPAD

2.Type in the number of the file that you want to see. Refer to the latest SAF File List if you need to know the correct file number.

Example: File No. 1, press ~O 0 1 .

3. Press copy .

The contents of the file will be printed.

Notes:

1.If NO FILE EXISTS is displayed, you asked the machine to print a file that does not exist. Go to step 2.

2.You cannot print a confidential file using Function 75. The machine will go back to step 2. Also, you cannot print a message that was sent to your machine for trans- fer broadcasting.
