Pollinq File:

This is a set of instructions (destinations to be polled, time of polling) for polling reception.

Pulse Dialing:

This method of dialng uses a string of pulses to represent each dialed digit.

Reception:

The act of receiving a document.

Reduction:

If your document iswiderthan thepaper available inthe other terminal, your terminal will automatically reduce it so that it will fit.

Remote Terminal:

The facsimile terminal that you are sending to or receiving from.

RTI:

Remote Terminal Identification. See page 20.

SAF:

Store and forward.

SAF File:

Same as “Memory File”; see the previous page.

SAF Memory:

This is the memory used for storing documents.

Sendina:

Same as “Transmission”, see below.

Standby Mode:

The terminal is said to be in standby mode when it is idle.

Terminal:

A facsimile terminal, such as your machine.

Time Designation:

This is programming an operation to take place at a later time (e.g., Send Later, Poll Later).

Tone Dialing:

This method of dialing uses a tone to represenl each dialed digit.

Transmission:

The act of sending a document.
