The example illustrated in Figure 7-5shows a single MAC Header Filter (one of the eight provided) configured to filter on a partial Destination Address. In order for the frame to obtain a match, the initial 29-bits (as used in this example) of the received frame must exactly match the first 29-bits of the Match Pattern Register.

This functionality is useful for filtering across Multicast group Addresses.
