Network Components

The	various parts of the ATM address form a hierarchy of network components, as
shown	in Figure 3-2.

The terms used to describe the components of an ATM Campus Network are defined here:

ATM Campus Network

One or more ATM subnetworks interconnected using NNI interfaces.

This set of subnetworks is	controlled by one administrative domain
and a single private owner	using one network access protocol
(UNI).

An ATM Campus Network is identified by:

The first 9 bytes of the unique network prefix.
