Short Guard Interval
Supported
Specifies the dead time interval, in
nanoseconds, between OFDM symbols.
The guard interval prevents Inter-Symbol
and Inter-Carrier Interference (ISI, ICI).
The 802.11n mode supports a reduction in
the interval from 800 nanoseconds,
defined in the a and g standards, to 400
nanoseconds. This may provide up to a
10% improvement in data throughput. The
selections are described here:
- Yes: The access point uses a 400 ns
guard interval when communicating with
clients that also support the feature. This
is the default setting.
- No: The access point uses an 800 ns
guard interval.
This parameter is only available with the
802.11n modes.
