2.Configuration items for creating an SNMP group

Description

Group Name

Set the SNMP group name.

 

 

 

Select the security level for the SNMP group. The available security levels are:

 

NoAuth/NoPriv—No authentication no privacy.

Security Level

Auth/NoPriv—Authentication without privacy.

Auth/Priv—Authentication and privacy.

 

 

 

IMPORTANT:

 

For an existing SNMP group, its security level cannot be modified.

Read View

Select the read view of the SNMP group.

 

 

 

Select the write view of the SNMP group.

Write View

If no write view is configured, the NMS cannot perform the write operations to all MIB

 

objects on the device.

 

 

 

Select the notify view of the SNMP group, that is, the view that can send trap

Notify View

messages.

If no notify view is configured, the agent does not send traps to the NMS.

 

Associate a basic ACL with the group to restrict the source IP address of SNMP

ACL

packets, that is, you can configure to allow or prohibit SNMP packets with a specific

source IP address, so as to restrict the intercommunication between the NMS and the

 

 

agent.
