IP Address Commands

User Guidelines

There are no user guidelines for this command.

Example

The following example defines default domain name www.intel.com.

Console(config)# ip domain-namewww.intel.com

ip name-server

The ip name-serverGlobal Configuration mode command defines the available name servers. To remove a name server, use the no form of this command.

Syntax

ip name-serverserver-address [server-address2 server-address8]no ip name-server[server-address1 server-address8]

Parameters

server-address— Specifies IP addresses of the name server.

Default Configuration

No name server addresses are specified.

Command Mode

Global Configuration mode

User Guidelines

The preference of the servers is determined by the order in which they were entered. Up to 8 servers can be defined using one command or using multiple commands.

Example

The following example sets the available name server..

Console(config)# ip name-server176.16.1.18
