arp

The arp Global Configuration mode command adds a permanent entry in the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) cache. To remove an entry from the ARP cache, use the no form of this command.

Syntax

arp ip_addr hw_addr {ethernet interface-number vlan vlan-id port-channelport- channel number.}

no arp ip_addr {ethernet interface-numbervlan vlan-idport-channel port-channel number.}

Parameters

•ip_addr — Valid IP address or IP alias to map to the specified MAC address.

•hw_addr — Valid MAC address to map to the specified IP address or IP alias.

•interface-number— Valid Ethernet port.

•vlan-id— Valid VLAN number.

•port-channel number. — Valid port-channel number.

Default Configuration

This command has no default configuration.
