Troubleshooting
The server is not found on the network:
Is the LAN cable connected?
→Make sure to connect the LAN cable to the network port on the rear of the server. Also make sure to use the LAN cable that conforms to the network interface standard.
Is BIOS configuration correct?
→The internal LAN controller may be disabled with the BIOS setup utility of the server. Check the setting with the BIOS setup utility.
<Menu to check: [Advanced] → [Option Rom] → [On Board LAN]> Have the protocol and service already configured?
→Install the distinctive network driver for the server. Make sure that the protocol, such as TCP/IP, and services are properly specified.
Is the transfer speed correct?
→Open the [Network Property] dialog box in Control Panel to specify the “Link Speed & Duplex” value the same as the value specified for HUB.
Transfer speed can be fixed by PROSet II.
Select an adapter to modify the setting from the tree on the left, for 100Base adapter, click the [Advanced] tab and make settings at “Link Speed & Duplex”.
For
Select [Enabled] "Auto Negotiation" and specify the transfer speed at "Negotiable Speed and Duplexes".
(Only check the transfer speed to use.)
Icon of drive A is changed to that of removal disk:
→Does not cause any problem.
WMI log is recorded in the application event log:
When you view the Application Event Viewer log on your computer, one or more of the following events may be logged. This has no effect on the functionality of VERITAS Volume Manager.
