CHAPTER 4 INITIALIZATION
SETTING UP THE WAN PRIVATE LINE (T1)
Shutting down and restarting the interface for the settings to take effect
If you change a line attribute of a T1 line, you must shut down and restart the interface for the change to take effect.
To shut down and restart the interface, use the Serial0.0 in device config mode. To stop the interface operation, use shutdown, and to restart it, use no shutdown. If setting was changed after shutdown, only no shutdown is necessary.

Saving setting data
Upon completion of setting, use the write memory command to save as startup config the data that you have set before a restart.
ix1000 − 01 (config − Serial0.0) # exit Enter
ix1000 − 01 (config) # write memory Enter ix1000 − 01 (config) #
NOTE: Do not turn OFF the power switch while the BUSY lamp is lit. Otherwise, the data in flash mem- ory may be destroyed.
