SETTING THE DATE AND TIME

The In-Skin Router has a built-in calendar clock with battery backup. Set the difference from the interna- tional standard time and the current date and time in U.S.A.

To set the time difference, use the timezone command in global config mode. As the parameter to the tim- ezone command, a time difference can be set in the range from -12 to 12.

To set the date and time, use the clock command. As the parameters to the clock command, you can enter the hour (0-23), minute (0-59), and second (0-59), day (1-31), month (1-12), and year (2001-2098) in this order, delimiting each with a space. To check the date and time, use the show clock command.

Setting

In this example, the In-Skin Router is placed in global config mode, the difference from the international standard time “-5” is set, and 3:12:0 p.m., October 20, 2001 is set as the date and time in U.S.A. Enter the clock command in accordance with a time signal or an accurate clock.

Router # enable − config Enter

Router (config) # timezone -5 Enter

Router (config) # clock 15 12 0 20 10 2001 Enter

Router (config) #

MEMO 1: By default, the difference from the international standard time is set to “+9”. Set the time dif- ference from the international standard time in your country.

MEMO 2: To enter the time only, you can enter the hour, minute, and second only, omitting the day, month, and year.

Checking

For checking, use the show clock command.

Router (config) # show clock Enter
