Validating the interface

Validate the interface.

To valid the interface, use the no shutdown command in interface config mode (FastEthernet0.0).

MEMO: To invalidate the interface, use the shutdown command.

Checking the settings

Checking the IP address

To check the IP address, use the show ip address command for IPv4 and the show ipv6 address command for IPv6.

Internet address is 192.168.3.100/24 Check the settings. Broadcast address is 255.255.255.255

NOTE: For IPv6, you can check the IPv6 address with the show ipv6 address command when the LAN port is validated with the no shutdown command. When the LAN port is not validated, however, you cannot check the IPv6 address with the show ipv6 address command.
