CHAPTER 3 BASICOPERATIONS AND VARIOUS EXPLANATIONS
LOGIN AND USER RIGHTS
NOTE: If no user has been registered with the administrator right, no login authentication is performed even if users have been registered with the monitor right.
If started up in this state, the router displays a warning message, followed by the administrator right user prompt. Anyone can then enter commands with the administrator right. This is in or- der to prevent setup or change from becoming impossible.
A warning message is displayed.
Warning : skipping login authentication until an administrative user is added.

The administrator right user prompt "#" is displayed.
Use of modes by more than one user
There are limits on the number of users that can enter the respective modes:
Operation mode: Up to three users (remote console: 2 + local console: 1)
Config mode : Only one user (remote/local console)
Only a single user can enter config mode at a time. This is in order to prevent setup competition. Users with the administrator right and those with the monitor right are treated equal.
Forced logout due to timeout
If the user in config mode has not entered any command for a prescribed period of time, he or she will be forced to log out, with the “login:” prompt displayed on the terminal used by that user. You can set the timeout time with the terminal timeout command.
