LOGIN AND USER RIGHTS
User rights
The
Monitor : Allows you to use the view, statistical information, cache information clear commands. Does not allow you to use setup commands.
Administrator: Allows you to use all commands.
By looking at the command prompt, you can determine with which user right you have logged in.
If you have logged in with the administrator right
If you have logged in with the administrator right, you will see the “#” prompt.

If you have logged in with the monitor right
If you have logged in with the monitor right, you will see the “%” prompt.

Registering users and setting user rights
To register a user and set a user right, use the username command in global config mode.
In this example, a user is registered with the user name
Router (config) # username nec − admin password plain to34kyo61 administrator Enter
